Win was born in Shirley Road, Cotteridge, on 17th December 1918, the second child and only daughter of Edward and Lilian Robins (nee Cole).  She continued to live in the same house until her death.

Win attended Cotteridge Primary School, where her three children were also taught, going on to Bournville Day Continuation College whilst working at Cadbury’s.  During the War she worked as a conductress from Selly Oak garage.

After marrying Ted Harris they lived with her mother, bringing up their children.  Win became an active member of the congregation at St. Agnes’ Church in Cotteridge, often to be found behind the teapot or washing up.  In this way, Win would discover people’s concerns and try to help them.

She adored her grandchildren, James and Amy, and would do anything for them.  Sadly Win died before their teenage years, but was part of Amy’s wedding as she “borrowed” Win’s wedding ring, and may be part of James’s day too!

Win may not have had material riches, but she shared her life and home with many people, helping anyone she could.  She died suddenly on 4th October 1990.
